This capstone project was created as part of my undergraduate photography degree and reflects my growth both technically and artistically, as well as my passion for equine photography. With a background in both riding and photographing horses, my work focuses on capturing authentic moments that highlight the connection between a horse and rider.

The Dance Between Horse and Rider explores that connection across multiple Western disciplines, including barrel racing, bronc riding, and other rodeo events. Coming from a background in English riding, I used this project to step into a new environment and adapt to a different riding discipline that I had not previously photographed.

Through a mix of action, detail, and candid images, this series tells a story of Western riding beyond a single event. These images emphasize trust, communication, and partnership, while inviting viewers to appreciate the athleticism and emotion at the core of horsemanship.
